※About rarity

Leitz product code 10402. A black paint Leica M4 with a serial number in the 1,280,000 range, shipped in February 1971. The camera retains its original condition, including the vulcanite covering. The wear on the paint around the winding lever and the baseplate adds a genuinely attractive character.
While black lenses naturally complement the black paint versions of the Leica M3 and M2, chrome-bodied lenses also suit the black paint M4 quite well.

Near the film counter and in two places on the baseplate, there are minor dings, but the black paint's wear adds to the appealing aesthetic, making it ideal for practical use.
The camera underwent an overhaul in 2019, including the replacement of the shutter curtain. Thanks to being moderately used, it still operates smoothly. The feel of the winding mechanism, the shutter dial, the winding crank, and the self-timer lever all exhibit a smoothly gliding motion. The finder is also exceptionally clear.
This is a camera ready for further use and enjoyment, perfect for someone looking to continue its journey.
