Flashback's handmade Elmar 50mm lens hood. When attached to any A36 diameter Elmar, it allows for easy aperture operation without any additional adjustments.
This version features retaining screws with silver lacquer. The screws are subtly colored by mixing metal powder into the lacquer, and their refined appearance complements even the chrome-plated collapsible Elmars. Over time, the screws' patina deepens, adding to the charm of the piece.
From design and prototyping to mass production, everything has been done in Japan, ensuring it's a genuine All Made in Japan product.
Facing the minor dimensional variations across different Elmar models over time, we painstakingly determined the optimal size after more than a year of trial and error. This is a carefully crafted product from our store, born from deep commitment.
Thanks to the overwhelming positive response, this is now the fourth batch. Thank you!
The design is by the familiar "Nanigashi" from Release. The main body is crafted by Watanabe Seisakusho in Kawasaki, with black lacquer work done by Sugimoto Bisou in Takaoka. The retaining screws are made by Ichibishi Metal in Tsubame, Niigata, and the screw engraving and silver lacquer work are handled by Iromasa and Sasajima Seisakusho in Takaoka. Assembly and greasing are performed at a renowned repair workshop in Ginza. The result is a flawless, uncompromising finish.
The retaining screws are engraved with the "F" mark. With its smooth operation, it's hard not to adjust the aperture by simply moving the hood.
When installing, screw the upper part of the FB-07's hood all the way in and then slightly rotate it counterclockwise to align the Elmar's catch with the aperture ring for proper attachment. Please note, it is not compatible with Elmars that have a stiff aperture or distorted nameplates.
