※About rarity

The Triplet Elmar 9cm f/4, product code 11830, was manufactured in 1962 with a serial number in the 1,920,000 range. It uses an E39 filter size. Production was limited to around 6,000 units, as the lens was only made for 5 years before being discontinued.

This lens marked a significant design shift, adopting a 3-element design instead of the previous 4-element Elmar configuration. It is known for its high resolution and sharp rendering. The lens produces clear, natural color reproduction and offers excellent contrast. At just 235g (measured weight), its compact size and lightweight build are additional major benefits.

With superb image quality, an elegant design, and excellent handling, this lens is a well-rounded classic. The particular unit offered here is in excellent condition, both optically and cosmetically.

There are virtually no signs of use, and it is in exceptional cosmetic condition, close to like-new.

All functions are working smoothly, and the operation of the aperture ring and helicoid is exceptionally fluid. The rangefinder coupling works perfectly. You can enjoy the sharp, cutting-edge rendering typical of the Triplet Elmar with any M-series Leica.

The lens is free from cleaning marks or haze, delivering clean, clear glass with great clarity. It would make an excellent addition to any collection.

Included with the lens are the original UVa filter, and the original front and rear caps.
