※About rarity

Elmar-R 24mm f2.8. ROM. Leitz product code 11813. Serial number 3,830,000. Manufactured in 1998. Lens construction consists of 7 groups and 9 elements. It incorporates Leitz's proprietary floating mechanism. Filter diameter is E60.
Initially introduced for the Leicaflex SL-2 in 1974, it later became compatible with the R-series and has been sold for a long time since. With a user-friendly focal length, f/2.8 aperture providing ample brightness, and a minimum focusing distance of approximately 30cm, it is a versatile lens. It exhibits minimal distortion characteristic of ultra-wide angles, delivering natural wide-angle images.
Includes 12523 hood, front and rear caps.

The hood shows signs of use with some scratches and linear marks, but the lens itself exhibits very little wear and remains in a beautiful overall condition. There are very faint marks near the front of the barrel from attaching and detaching the hood, otherwise it is very clean.

Fully overhauled in June 2024, the aperture and helicoid operation are very smooth thanks to meticulous servicing. The glass is free from noticeable scratches or haze, delivering clear and sharp images. Overall, it is in excellent condition.
