Nippon Kogaku Sports Finder. This finder was manufactured during the Nikon S series era, from around 1953 to 1960. This particular unit is a later model, featuring an inner frame painted in a pale yellow for better visibility. When the frame is raised and viewed from the front, the angle markings are inverted. In contrast, the earlier model had a full chrome-plated finish with the angle markings in the correct orientation.
The frame can be adjusted for different focal lengths: 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 135mm. The 105mm frame was not included as it was considered to be similar in angle to the 85mm frame.
The condition is excellent. It comes with its original leather case, making it a great addition to any collection.
There is a single spot of wear on the chrome plating of the 35mm frame, and very light scuffs can be seen on various parts depending on the angle of light. However, overall, it shows minimal signs of use and is in very clean condition. The yellow paint on the inner frame is exceptionally well-preserved.
While this finder may not see much practical use in modern photography, it is a great accessory to mount on a clean Nikon S, whether for practical use or for admiration. It is a somewhat rare, nostalgic accessory.
