Flashback Camera proudly presents the FB-10 hood for the Hektor 50mm f2.5. When placed on the Hektor, it allows direct control of the aperture.
This product features retaining screws with silver lacquer, which deepens in character over time. The subtle accent of the retaining screws, made by mixing metal powder into the lacquer, complements the chrome-plated Hektor lens and camera beautifully.
From design to prototyping and mass production, everything is done domestically in Japan. It is a genuine All Made in Japan product.
The project for this Hektor hood began with a casual remark from our staff while working with the prototype of the FB-07 Elmar hood—an idea born from a moment of inspiration.
The initial release in 2021 sold out on the same day, and this is now the third batch.
The design and development were done by the well-known company specializing in release mechanisms. The lathe processing of the body was done by Watanabe Seisakusho in Kawasaki, the painting by Sugimoto Bisou in Takaoka, Toyama, the retaining screws made by Ichibishi Metal in Tsubame, Niigata, and the screw stamping by Sasajima Seisakusho in Takaoka. The final assembly and greasing were done at a repair workshop in Ginza.
The interchangeable retaining screws are stamped with "F" for FLASHBACK, and the overall design is kept simple. We are thrilled if this enhances the enjoyment of the Hektor 50mm lens!
Although we have tested and designed it with numerous units, please note that this hood may not be suitable for Hektor lenses with stiff aperture controls or distorted nameplates. Please be aware of this.
