Our store's original FB-10 lens hood for the Hektor 50mm f2.5, featuring aperture control functionality. The retaining screws are blackened brass.
Based on the design of the FB-07 Elmar 50mm hood, this has been re-engineered specifically for the Hektor 50mm. To match the varying aperture control mechanisms of different Hektor 50mm models over time, we produced multiple prototypes, gathered several lenses, and rigorously tested them to finalize the specifications.
From design to prototyping and mass production, everything is done domestically in Japan. It is a true Made-in-Japan product.
The interchangeable retaining screws are engraved with our store's logo. We would be thrilled if this hood finds its way to Hektor users everywhere!
This is now the third batch. The initial release in 2021 sold out on the same day, and we were amazed by the number of Hektor enthusiasts.
The design and development were done by the well-known company specializing in release mechanisms. The manufacturing and processing were carried out by skilled craftsmen in Kawasaki, Takaoka, and Tsubame. Greasing was meticulously done by a renowned lens craftsman in Ginza, with a specially formulated grease that adjusts the torque for smooth operation.
The hood is made from brass with black paint, carefully finished to evoke the tactile feel of classic Barnack and M-type Leicas. The retaining screws are available in three options: raw brass, silver lacquer, and blackened brass, allowing you to coordinate it with your camera and lens to your liking.
The comfortable and responsive aperture control enhances the enjoyment of the Hektor lens. This limited edition of 50 units for the Hektor lens, with three screw types, is available for sale. Once they’re gone, they’re gone—no stocks!
