※About rarity

*Shipping to Japan Only.

A lens hood for the rigid Summicron (both early and late versions) for enlarging purposes, introduced in 1956. The Leitz product code is VTROO, later updated to 16686. Although not its original purpose, it can also be used as a hood with aperture control functionality, similar to the VALOO for the Elmar 50mm.

(Installation Instructions)

1. Insert the two protruding parts on the inside of the VTROO hood into the vertical grooves of the aperture ring on the rigid Summicron.
2. Twist the hood's front section clockwise to secure it onto the lens's front.
3. Adjust the two small round protrusions on the thin ring marked with arrows so that the aperture value on the lens side matches the aperture value indicated by the white arrow on the hood’s front.

Our staff was quite impressed by the intricate design. It’s a testament to the quality of Leitz products.

There are some scratches and paint loss on the tip due to use, but it remains in good condition.

All functions are working properly. It has been tested for mounting and aperture operation with the rigid Summicron 2nd.

Compared to IROOA and ITDOO, this hood is slightly larger and deeper. Although it looks somewhat imposing, it is expected to provide significant light-blocking benefits.
