W-Nikkor 28mm f3.5 This wide-angle lens is designed for Nikon's rangefinder cameras, specifically the Nikon S series. It is said that around 10,000 units were produced, including versions for the Leica L mount.
This particular example is a later model with a lightweight aluminum barrel finished in black paint. It features an orthometre-type 4-group, 6-element optical design, with a light coating. The lens has a feet scale. It weighs only 99g, making it both lightweight and compact.
The lens has a recessed, bowl-like design that eliminates the need for a hood. While a dedicated round hood was available for this lens, it is quite rare.
In addition to the Nikon S series, this lens looks quite stylish when mounted on modern digital mirrorless cameras. It offers both a visually appealing experience and excellent functionality for photography.
The lens shows minimal signs of use and has a clean appearance. The black paint and chrome plating are still in excellent condition.
All functions are working smoothly. Under strong LED light, there are very minor coating imperfections on the glass, but they should not affect image quality. Test results were favorable.
Sample images have been posted in the test gallery. We hope you find them useful. The lens pairs well with the compact Sony α7Cii, which is a favorite of our staff.
