The Summicron 50mm f2, 4th generation, with 6-bit coding. This is the current model, with Leica product code 11826. Released in 1994, this particular unit has a serial number in the 4.8 million range and was manufactured in 2020. The optical design remains unchanged from the 3rd generation, featuring a 4-group, 6-element construction. The built-in hood enhances portability, making it highly versatile. The minimum focusing distance is 0.7m, and the filter thread size is E39.
The Summicron has undergone multiple generations of refinement and has been in production for many years. Its exceptional resolution and high contrast performance are faithfully carried over to this current version.
There are hardly any signs of use, and the exterior is in excellent condition. Aside from a very minor loss of black chrome on the edges of the helicoid ring, the lens is nearly like new. The chrome plating on the lens mount surface retains a pristine, factory-fresh shine.
In January 2025, a full overhaul was performed, including meticulous focus adjustment. The aperture and helicoid operation are exceptionally smooth, setting this Summicron apart from others on the market. The rangefinder coupling is also in perfect working order.
Includes original front and rear caps, as well as a Marumi filter.
