※About rarity

Leica M2 Chrome, late model. Serial number in the 1,010,000 range, manufactured in 1960. Equipped with a self-timer. Leitz code name: KOOHE, catalog number: 10835M.

The viewfinder frame includes 35mm, 50mm, and 90mm frames, serving as the foundation for subsequent M-series Leica viewfinders.

This unit has retained its original condition, including the vulcanite covering. The viewfinder has slight imperfections, but it remains in good condition for practical use.

The top cover has a few minor scuffs, while the bottom plate shows slightly more noticeable wear. However, there are no dents or impact marks. For an M2, which is often used heavily, this unit has a relatively clean appearance. The vulcanite covering is entirely original, with no missing sections or damage.

Overhauled in February 2025. The winding lever and other operational components now function smoothly, ensuring a pleasant shooting experience.

The viewfinder has a slight haze on the balsam surface of the prism. While this may slightly affect visibility when pointed at a light source, the rangefinder patch remains clear, making focusing and practical use problem-free.

Includes its original box from what is arguably the most stylish era of Leica, in excellent condition—such well-preserved original boxes are rare. The serial number on the body matches the number on the box. Also included are the body cap and an English manual.
