※About rarity

Agfa Color Projection Filter. Leitz product code is FARPU. This is a composite color filter arranged in horizontal stripes of the three primary colors. The Agfa Color system used black-and-white film for recording, but this filter was essential for color projection.

The compatible lens for projection is the all-black Hektor 73mm f1.9, specifically designed for Agfa Color. To prevent the lens head from rotating, the helicoid was changed from a rotating type to a straight helicoid.

The all-black Hektor is not only visually striking but also served a special purpose. Accessories for Agfa Color are said to have been listed only in the 1935 comprehensive catalog and appear to have been discontinued shortly after. However, the straight helicoid version of the Hektor 7.3cm seems to have been produced for a while as a remnant of this.

While it holds no practical use today, it has long been recognized as a collectible item among Leica enthusiasts. This rare accessory adds a touch of flair to any collection, especially when displayed alongside the FARBA filters used for photography.

In Excellent Condition, Exuding the Atmosphere of Newness.
This item shows no signs of use and is very clean. The semi-gloss paint and matte chrome plating are beautifully preserved. There are no scratches or fogging on the glass. However, the blue of the filter’s three primary colors shows some fading.

The original box is included. Perfect for collectors!
