※About rarity

The Summilux-M 35mm f1.4, originally introduced in 1961, remains highly popular and continues to rise in value. This is a reissue of the first-generation steel rim version, complete with a reproduction of the original OLLUX lens hood. The serial number is in the 4.92 million range, and the Leica product code is 11301. The filter size has changed from E41 to E46.

The rendering characteristics differ slightly from the original Summilux 35mm, with less peripheral fall-off wide open and a more cohesive image overall.

This is a literally like-new item with no signs of use and a pristine appearance. It should fit perfectly on a new Leica as well.

All functions operate correctly, with excellent rangefinder coupling even at wide apertures. The glass is clear and free of haze or cleaning marks, matching its beautiful exterior.

Given the difficulty of obtaining original steel rim versions, having a steel rim option that's easy to use is quite valuable.

Included are the screw-in 12486 hood, the 12487 OLLUX reproduction hood, an E46 UVa II filter, the manual, inspection certificate, and the original box.
