※About rarity

Leica MP Hammer Tone. In 2004, to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Leica Historical Society of America (LHSA), Leica was commissioned to create this special edition model. Leica's product code is 10314, and only 1,000 units were produced worldwide.

The set includes a dedicated Summicron-M 35mm f2 lens, which pays homage to the classic 8-element design, a hammer-tone finish lens hood, and a special Leica Bit M camera, all housed in a custom case.

The gray hammer-tone finish, with its distinctive texture, is incredibly cool and unique. The Summicron 35mm lens weighs 342g, providing a solid and high-quality feel. Additionally, various parts are engraved with LHSA 1968-2003, enhancing its special edition status. This is an ideal choice for someone seeking a clearly differentiated, unique model that stands out.

This item was acquired from one of our customers as part of their collection. It is in nearly new condition, with only minimal signs of use: very light marks on the lens mount from attaching and detaching, and a tiny scratch on the strap ring.

The shutter was overhauled in December 2024, and all parts are functioning smoothly. The viewfinder is clear, and the exposure meter is working correctly.

The included Summicron lens shows no fogging or cleaning marks. All functions are normal, and the rangefinder coupling is perfect.

Although the original box and paperwork are not included, the body and lens show almost no signs of use and retain much of the feeling of a new item from its era. A great addition to any collection.
