※About rarity

Canon VT Deluxe. This particular model is a rare black paint version. The VT Deluxe is an improved model of the VT introduced in 1957, featuring a rewind knob that adopted the crank lever style from the Canon L1 model.

It was influenced by the Leica M3 and debuted in 1956. It includes a sophisticated viewfinder with three mode selections, a built-in rapid winder, and a horizontally opening back door. The viewfinder offers switchable and variable magnification: 0.4x for 35mm, 0.72x for 50mm, and 1.4x for rangefinder focusing.

It boasts a rugged black paint finish. Combined with the trigger integrated into the base for shutter release, it exudes a professional and stylish appearance.

Pairing it with the Strapateer strap, available at our store, allows enthusiasts to enjoy the vintage journalist style. Acquiring this model is quite challenging, but it would be ideal to pair it with other black finish lenses such as the 50mm f1.2.

It has a weathered and dignified appearance. There are nicks near the winding knob on the top cover and at the tripod socket on the bottom. Additionally, there are paint loss, scratches from use, and minor dents in various places, but it has a truly appealing atmosphere.

It underwent an overhaul in June 2024. The trigger-operated winding lever operates smoothly and crisply. There are signs of fungus corrosion in the viewfinder, but the visibility is still good. It's a camera that you can use extensively and enjoy to the fullest.
