Noctilux 50mm f1.2, the third generation following the f1 E58 version, this is the early type Noctilux E60 with a separate hood.
This is an early model of the E60 Noctilux, where the hood is inserted and secured by twisting, similar to the previous E58 version. Leitz product code: 11821.
Manufactured in 1981 by Leitz Canada. Both the barrel and glass are in excellent condition.
At wide open f1.0, you can fully enjoy the distinctive rendering of the Noctilux, offering a unique and immersive world of bokeh and image quality. It also performs beautifully when stopped down.
The rangefinder coupling is perfectly aligned, so you can confidently shoot wide open without issue.
Includes the original 12539 hood, 13039 UVa filter, and front and rear caps—all genuine accessories.
There is slight glossiness on the tip of the barrel from attaching and removing the hood, but the rest of the black paint on the barrel is well-preserved, maintaining a clean appearance.
It underwent a full overhaul (OH) in 2020. Thanks to the meticulous servicing, both the aperture and focusing helicoid still operate smoothly.
Although some E60 Noctilux lenses with separate hoods are known to have issues with rangefinder coupling, this one is in excellent working order with accurate rangefinder coupling.
The lens glass is clear, with only a minor coating imperfection visible on the inner elements, but there is no haze or noticeable cleaning marks, maintaining excellent optical clarity.
You’ll be able to enjoy the characteristic dense rendering of the Noctilux, especially around wide-open apertures.
