Leitz vertical rangefinder, FODIS.
This is the early model with a small distance dial and a 5-digit serial number. It is believed to have been manufactured in the late 1920s.
The rangefinder features a black and nickel finish, with distance markings in feet. With a baseline length of 83mm, it provides quite accurate measurements, with a minimum measuring distance of 3 feet.
This vintage standalone rangefinder is an excellent match for early Leica A models and other similar cameras from that era.
This finder has very minimal paint loss and the inlay is well-preserved, resulting in an overall very clean appearance. There is almost no wear visible. The dial area also has no noticeable scratches, and the usually delicate dial part is in excellent condition with the nickel plating beautifully shining.
Overhauled in August 2024. The dial operates smoothly, the double image is clear and strong, and there is no haze in the prism.
The leather case has two stains, but there is no distortion or cracking, and it is also in very good condition.
Perfect for a collection!
