The classic 50mm viewfinder for Leica, the SBOOI, with the later code 12015. This is an early model marked with 5cm, and the eyepiece is also chrome-plated. It has one shoe mounting screw, and both sides of the viewfinder body feature knurled grips for slip resistance.
A masterpiece from Leitz, this viewfinder exudes simple functional beauty and provides the best view. While many cameras have built-in 50mm viewfinder frames, once you look through this viewfinder, you might find it hard to go back to a camera's built-in viewfinder!
The viewfinder shows many light scuffs overall, indicating it has been well-used. Additionally, for adjustment purposes, the side and front corner of one shoe mount have been slightly shaved, but this does not affect mounting on Leica or other cameras.
There are very minor cleaning marks on the glass that are barely noticeable even under magnification, but they do not impact the view. The viewfinder is clear and free of haze, delivering the bright and excellent view characteristic of the SBOOI. Perfect for practical use!
