Leitz's product code is VALOO, later changed to 16620. It’s an enlarger hood introduced in 1949. Originally designed to improve the aperture operation when using the Elmar 50mm lens on enlargers such as the Valoy or Focomat, or on focusing stages.

In practice, it can also be used as a hood for photography, and today it is mainly used as a hood for the Elmar 50mm lens. It weighs about 60g and has a rugged appearance. The aperture control features a satisfying click-stop mechanism, making it a finely crafted item typical of Leitz.

The front has an A36 diameter, allowing the attachment of the original cap. It's slightly longer than the standard FISON hood, providing improved shading performance as a lens hood.

There are signs of wear throughout. Apart from the knurled section at the front where the brass is visible, the paint is mostly intact. The aperture control operates smoothly. The price includes consumption tax and domestic shipping.
