※About rarity

Summilux-R 50mm f1.4, 3-cam version. Leitz product code 11875. Manufactured in 1978 with a serial number in the 2,950,000 range. Made in Germany.

Originally released in 1969 for the Leicaflex SL, this Summilux-R 50mm lens features an integrated hood in its later version. The lens construction remains unchanged from the earlier models, using a 6-group, 7-element modified Gauss design. The minimum focusing distance is 0.5m. Filter size is E55.

Includes genuine front and rear caps, and a UVa filter.

The lens is in exceptionally clean condition with minimal signs of use. The interior paint of the retractable hood shows no wear, and the rubberized focusing ring, which tends to powder over time, remains clean.

A full overhaul was performed in 2023. Known for their intricate maintenance requirements, Leica R-mount lenses are meticulously serviced here, resulting in exceptionally smooth operation across all functions. This lens avoids common issues like heavy helicoids and loose aperture mechanisms often found in R lenses.

There are very minor coating marks on the middle element, but no wiping marks or haze, presenting very clean glass that matches its beautiful exterior.

The test results are highly favorable. While I don't have current sample images from its previous sale, I recommend viewing them at a gallery if possible.
