Elmar 50mm f3.5 Hood. Early type of FISON without retaining screw. It is from an era when the hood was made in one piece. This is likely the model following the very first FISON, which required repositioning every time the shooting distance was changed due to its rectangular shape. Made of brass with black paint.
The hood measures 20mm in total length and lacks markings such as Leitz Wetzlar or Germany, but it is clearly manufactured by Leitz based on its construction. Rare.
Overall, there are very faint scratches, but the beauty of the black gloss is evident. Some areas, such as the edges, show brass base metal, but it appears to have been carefully used for a long time. There are no notable scratches or distortions, making it quite a beautiful example of an early FISON hood, considering it has been around for about 90 years. It has been confirmed to fit the Elmar.
Ideal for your Nickel Elmar or Leica A model!
