Leica Summicron 50mm f/2 in black paint, with a fixed barrel and a later version. Serial number 2,030,000. Manufactured in 1964. The black paint with red scale gives it a ruggedly handsome impression.
The black paint areas where hands come into contact exhibit a natural brass patina, adding to its vintage charm. A rare find that would complement black paint Leica M3, MP, M2, M4, and similar models.
There are some areas where the paint has chipped off, revealing brass underneath, giving it a nicely weathered appearance. There are no major dents or dings.
A full service was conducted in 2023. The operation of each part remains smooth, just like during the previous sale, and the rangefinder coupling is in excellent condition. Some coating wear is visible on the periphery of the front lens element and on the surface of the rear element, but it should have minimal effect on actual photography. The results of the test shots were also satisfactory.
Comes with an original black UVa filter from the period and front and rear caps.
