Rollei 35. Chrome. Made in Singapore. Equipped with a Tessar 40mm f3.5 lens, it is a standard model in the Rollei 35 series. Despite being a standard model, it is a powerful performer. The image quality when the focus is accurate is sharp, and the 40mm field of view is superb. Its compact yet precise and solid construction is sure to delight camera enthusiasts.

This masterpiece by Rollei, designed by the German genius Heinz Waaske, had a significant influence on the design of later compact cameras. The gentle Tessar 40mm f3.5 lens offers deep focus and makes scale focusing enjoyable. There is a minor dent on the corner of the rewind lever side of the base plate, but otherwise, there are no noticeable scratches, and the camera has a very clean appearance overall. The chrome on the collapsing section, the black trim around the viewfinder, the vulcanite on the back cover, and the area around the tripod socket are all in good condition.

The shutter and other components were serviced in July 2024. The shutter, winding mechanism, and other functions operate smoothly. The exposure meter has been tested and is accurate. The viewfinder is clear with no fogging.

There is a slight amount of dust in the middle element of the lens, but no noticeable cleaning marks, and the glass is overall clean and clear. When collapsing the lens, first wind the film, then press the lock release button on the top cover while turning the lens counterclockwise to retract it.

The camera comes with a filter, hood, and strap.
