FLQOO. Hood for Elmar 35mm f3.5. A36. The retaining screw is chrome. The appearance is similar to the successor FOOKH, but the diameter and length are different. Its simple design enhances the look of your lens. As expected from Leitz.
This item has an aluminum front end and features rare white paint markings instead of inlaid engravings. Similar models exist from N.Y. Leitz, but this one is made in Wetzlar. It is likely a late model of the FLQOO hood, just before transitioning to the FOOKH.
The all-brass FLQOO weighs about 25g, but this model is a lightweight 11.7g. Ideal for those looking to reduce the weight of their system.
A rare item.
There are some paint chips and scuffs on the black-painted front and side of the hood, but for an FLQOO hood, it is in quite good condition.
Since the hood is made of aluminum, it can bend easily if bumped, so some care is needed when handling it.
It also looks good when attached to other lenses like the Summaron 35mm or Elmar 50mm. A versatile hood that will come in handy if you have one.
