Leitz-made folding lens hood for the Summicron 50mm.

This type of folding hood originated with the Xenon 50mm f1.5, and later was used for the Summitar and then became compatible with both Summitar and Summicron with the advent of the Summicron. It was exclusively used for the Summicron after the retirement of the Summitar. Knowing this history, one can truly appreciate it and get immersed in the world of Leitz accessories.

The original box included is also specific to the Summicron model.



The hood shows overall signs of use, with paint loss particularly around the corners. There is some rust on the spring section, but it does not affect its functionality. The hood has been tested for lens mounting.
