Alpa Keln Macro-Switar 50mm f1.8. This is one of the few photographic lenses produced by Keln, a Swiss company specializing in cine lenses. It is an apochromatic lens with a 5-group, 7-element design. The distance scale is in feet.
The lens delivers superb performance, excelling in everything from macro photography to snapshots. It is truly a high-performance lens, and its soft yet enchanting rendering continues to be popular today.
The included KIPON adapter has been adjusted for rangefinder coupling accuracy and internal part smoothness during the lens's full overhaul in 2023.
On our store's demo M10-P, the double image is slightly over at infinity, but the lens couples accurately from close focus at 1m to infinity. This is a great lens for enjoying the renowned Macro-Switar with Leica rangefinder coupling.
There are only minor signs of use on the front and mount sections, but the black and silver paint remains intact, making this Macro-Switar in very good condition. It was fully overhauled in 2023 and maintains a wonderfully smooth operation. As mentioned earlier, the adapter has been adjusted, and rangefinder coupling with Leica is spot on.
There are only very slight signs of coating wear on the front element, but there is no fogging or noticeable cleaning marks, leaving the glass in clear, excellent condition. Test shots were very favorable, with a beautifully creamy bokeh in close-up shots.
The lens comes with the original front cap, an aftermarket UV filter with replaced glass, and a KIPON adapter.
