※About rarity
A renowned camera born from the collaboration between Leitz and Minolta (now Sony) in Japan. While it bears the Leitz name, it was manufactured at Minolta's factory in Japan. Although it adopts the Leica M mount, this camera intentionally eschews Leitz's traditions, such as baseline length, vertical-travel shutter, and dial positions, opting instead for a design tailored specifically for the CL. Nevertheless, it is meticulously designed, making it incredibly user-friendly and well-crafted. The included lens is the M-Rokkor 40mm f2, which, when attached, displays bright frames for both 40mm and 50mm simultaneously. The 40mm focal length perfectly matches the lightweight and user-friendly body, making it ideal for travel photography! There is a slight dent on the top cover's corner in the upper right when facing the front, and a depression is visible on the bottom cover in the lower left. Otherwise, the appearance is quite clean. In 2021, the finder and lens were cleaned, and the helicoid was serviced, with all parts currently operating smoothly. The built-in exposure meter is functioning well with a Kanto Camera 1.35V conversion adapter, providing sufficient accuracy for practical use. Please note that the light receiving element is centered on the lens, so consider it to be moderately center-weighted metering during actual use. The lens is mounted on our M10-P, with rangefinder coupling and focusing functioning well. Previously used by the previous owner until recently, it's ready for practical use!
