Apo-Macro-Elmarit-R 100mm f2.8, also known as AME. This macro lens from Leica allows for 1:2 magnification on its own.
Among the many Leica lenses, this one is highly esteemed as a top-performing lens. It features apochromatic correction and has consistently received high praise and popularity. The Leitz product code is 11210. Manufactured in 1989 with a serial number in the 3,490,000 range, it has a 6-group, 8-element construction. The filter size is E60, and it has a built-in hood.
The lens is renowned for its creamy bokeh and remarkable resolution, particularly in close-up details. It's a lens that deserves to be enjoyed on modern high-performance digital mirrorless cameras as well.
There are small scratches and minor abrasions on the edges of the focusing and aperture rings, but overall, including the hood and rubber parts of the helicoid, the appearance is quite clean.
In June 2024, a specialist cleaned the aperture blades. All functions are working well.
There are very slight coating marks around the middle element that are visible only under strong LED light, and a few very faint wipe marks on the front element. However, none of these are likely to affect photography.
A genuine front cap is included. There is a chip on knob on the cap's removal tab, but this does not affect its practical use.
