The Leitz vertical rangefinder FOKOS. This is a late model produced after the war, from 1949 onwards. Among these, it appears to be the final version, where the Leitz hexagonal logo is engraved facing upwards. The product code is FOKOS, later referred to as 14011. The distance scale is in meters.
Compared to the horizontal rangefinder HFOOK, the shoe has been removed, making it a vertical design like the early rangefinders such as the FODIS. It features an elegant design and a beautiful finish, exuding a sense of precision. The total length is just under 8 cm. Perfect for use with Leica Ic/If models!
There are a couple of very minor scuffs on each surface, but there are no noticeable dents or scratches, and the appearance is clean with minimal signs of use. Maintenance was performed in October 2024, including the replacement of the half-mirror, and the movement of the dial is in excellent condition. There are some very fine scratches on the objective side glass, but they do not affect the clarity of the view. The double image is sharp and easily visible, aligning perfectly at infinity.
