※About rarity

The second-generation Summicron 50mm f2. Leitz product code is 11817. Serial number is in the 2,610,000 range, made in 1973. This item has a special serial number with zeros in the last four digits.
It comes with the original matching-number box, warranty card from that time, and a Schmidt card. The condition is excellent, making it suitable for collection.
The second-generation Summicron 50mm was renewed in 1969, featuring a 6-element, 5-group construction. From this 2nd model onwards, it can focus as close as 0.7m.
Although often overshadowed by the first-generation Summicron, this lens offers excellent performance, improved handling with the removal of the infinity lock, and a lightweight aluminum barrel, weighing around 200g, which is another appealing point.

Other than very minor paint loss on the corners of the barrel base, there are no scratches or wear from use. It underwent a full overhaul in 2019. Thanks to the meticulous maintenance, the aperture and helicoid still operate very smoothly. The rangefinder coupling is also perfect.
The glass shows very minor coating damage that is only noticeable under strong LED light, but it has no impact on shooting. There are no haze or noticeable cleaning marks, and the glass is beautifully clear.

The original matching-number box, warranty card, Schmidt card, 12585 hood, hood cap, and front and rear lens caps are all included.
Combined with the unique serial number, this is a rare second-generation Summicron!
