※About rarity

Hektor 5cm f2.5 in nickel finish. No serial number. Uncoated optics. A 0 marking is engraved on the underside of the focusing knob. The optical design consists of 6 elements in 3 groups. Distance scale in meters.

We believe this particular lens was originally fitted to a Leica Model A around 1930 and was later converted to Leica screw mount by Leitz. Many Hektors of this type have shorter barrels, but this example has a barrel length that appears quite close to that of a standard Hektor.

The helicoid is of the full-circle type. The underside of the focusing knob is flat, so there is no concern about interference with an L-M adapter.

Hektors of this type rarely appear on the market, and most surviving examples show considerable wear from extensive use. This one, however, is a remarkably well-preserved example in beautiful condition!

The original compatible hood is the FIKUS adjustable hood, but our own FB-10 hood for the Hektor, featuring an aperture adjustment mechanism, can also be used.

The original compatible filter is the A36 slip-on FIOLA, but our own FB-19 filter, specially designed for the Hektor, also fits perfectly!

This lens was previously sold by our shop and has now returned to us after being carefully cherished by its owner. This time, it has come back together with our original protective filter, specially designed for the Hektor.

Just as when we last sold it, this lens remains in exceptionally beautiful condition for an early nickel Hektor. The gleaming nickel plating on the name ring and collapsible barrel is truly lovely. An excellent example for a collection as well.

A full overhaul, including focus adjustment, was completed in 2026. Thanks to meticulous servicing, both the helicoid and aperture mechanism operate smoothly. Please note that Hektors from this period have a leaf spring incorporated into the helicoid, resulting in somewhat heavier focusing resistance, but this presents no problem in practical use.

Thanks to careful adjustment, the rangefinder coupling is spot-on! Actual shooting tests using our shop's demonstration camera also produced very good results.

The front element shows minor cleaning marks and slight discoloration, but the glass is beautifully clear, with no haze. Considering that more than 90 years have passed since its manufacture, the condition is almost miraculous. This is a nickel Hektor that allows you to fully enjoy its original optical performance.

Comes with the original Bakelite front cap, a black-painted brass rear cap, and our FLASHBACK UV filter for the Hektor.

A Hektor in such fine condition rarely comes along. A truly exceptional example!
