The Leitz ITDOO lens hood. A classic hood for the Summicron 50mm and Summaron 35mm lenses. Single-hook type.

Compared to its successor, the IROOA, the ITDOO has a cleaner, more streamlined design. A stylish hood with beautifully minimal styling.

Like other Leitz accessories, the ITDOO was produced in several variations. This example is the standard version with lens names engraved on the hood. A small number of early ITDOO hoods were also made of Bakelite, but these soon disappeared from production, perhaps because they were prone to breaking.

There is slight paint wear along the edges, but otherwise the hood shows almost no signs of use and remains in excellent cosmetic condition. Fitment has been confirmed on an E39 lens.

We believe it dates from the 1950s, yet even after nearly 70 years, it remains in remarkable condition, retaining an almost brand-new appearance.

Comes with its original box from the transitional period between the ITDOO and IROOA. Also an excellent piece for collectors!
