Lens hood for the Summaron 28mm f5.6, also known as the Red Summaron. Leitz product code SOOBK, later 12500Y. A36 slip-on type.

An impressive hood with a finely textured baked-enamel finish. Although expensive, its appearance when mounted on the Red Summaron is quite commanding despite its compact size. A truly satisfying accessory to own.

A must-have item for anyone who owns a Red Summaron. Which should come first, the lens or the hood? That is the question.

This item was previously sold by our shop and has now returned to us after being carefully used by its owner.

It remains in the same good condition as when we last sold it. There is very slight deterioration of the crinkle-finish paint on the side opposite the hood's locking screw, and a little brass is visible along the front edge. Some paint loss can also be seen on the inside of the mounting section. Overall, however, it shows little sign of use and is in very beautiful condition.

Fitment on the lens has been confirmed. The original box is also in excellent condition. In addition to the SOOBK designation, the box bears a sticker marked 12500Y, suggesting that this hood was sold during the period when Leitz was transitioning from alphabetical product codes to numerical ones.
