Leica M Monochrom Typ 246 Stealth Edition. Released in March 2018, this special edition was designed by the founder and owner of rag & bone, a New York-based fashion brand. An exceptionally rare model, limited to just 125 units worldwide.
Based on the second-generation M Monochrom, this edition takes the already understated appearance of the standard model a step further with an even more discreet matte black paint finish.
Most of the shutter speed and aperture markings are blacked out, while selected engravings are filled with luminous paint that glows in the dark, reminiscent of classic wristwatches with tritium luminous markings. Even the lens mounting alignment dot, normally red, is black on this edition.
The camera is covered in black full-grain leather, adding another touch of refinement to its appearance. Every detail of this Stealth Edition has been carefully considered, resulting in a remarkably cohesive design.
The included lens is a Summicron-M 35mm f2 ASPH., finished in the same matte black with luminous markings as the camera body. Together, they create an exceptionally discreet, quiet, and cool appearance, as though trying to disappear completely.
Even the lettering on the lens name ring is entirely black, making it almost impossible to read unless the lens is tilted to catch the light at just the right angle! The screw-in lens hood is also finished in matte black.
The aperture ring and the knurled grip near the base of the lens feature a distinctive crosshatched pattern reminiscent of classic Leica cameras and lenses, adding a unique vintage touch to the modern design.
This example was officially distributed in Japan and comes with a completed warranty card. It is in nearly new condition, with a complete set of accessories. An excellent addition to any Leica collection!
There are extremely minor signs of rubbing on the strap lugs and accessory shoe cover, but otherwise, both the camera body and lens are in truly like-new condition, showing no signs of use. At first glance, they would be difficult to distinguish from brand-new items.
All functions work properly, and the results of our test shots were excellent. The sensor is also very clean, with no visible dust or scratches. Our warranty covers initial defects for 7 days from delivery.
The lens glass is beautifully clear and bright, allowing you to fully enjoy its original optical performance.
