The legendary Leica M8, the first digital Leica M camera. Leica product code 10701. Introduced in 2006, it remains popular among enthusiasts today. Its Kodak CCD sensor delivers a distinctive, analog-like rendering that continues to attract photographers. The camera features an unusual APS-H sensor format. Thanks to its thin IR-cut filter, it is also one of the few digital cameras capable of handheld infrared photography.
The maximum shutter speed is 1/8000 sec., which remained the fastest among digital Leica M cameras until the introduction of the M11. Its mechanical shutter speed is still the fastest in the digital M series. Another charming neo-classic feature is the battery level and remaining SD card capacity indicators on the top cover.
The camera shows signs of use throughout, but there are no dents or noticeable scratches. A good choice for those who want to use their camera regularly without worrying too much about it. The shutter count is relatively low, at approximately 9,050 shots. As Leica no longer provides repair services for this model, our warranty covers initial defects only, within 7 days of delivery.
All functions are working properly. The viewfinder is clear and bright, and our shooting tests produced good results. Please note that when the ISO is set to higher values, such as 1250 or 2500, faint vertical line noise may occasionally appear along the right edge of the image, along with hazy band-like noise near the top, depending on shooting conditions. The M8 is inherently rather noisy at high ISO settings, and its image quality is at its best at lower sensitivities. These issues may have little impact on practical use, but we mention them just to be safe.
Comes with the original box, instruction manual, original warranty card, inspection certificate, battery, charger, and body cap.
The price includes domestic shipping within Japan.
