Leica Summicron-M 35mm f2 ASPH., a wide-angle lens and the predecessor to the current Summicron-M 35mm. Serial number in the 4,230,000 range, manufactured in 2013. Made in Germany with a black chrome finish. Leica product code 11879. Equipped with 6-bit coding. Minimum focusing distance is 0.7m.
This is the fourth generation of the Summicron 35mm f2, following the 8-element, 6-element, and 7-element versions. It features 7 elements in 5 groups, including an aspherical element. Sharp images can be obtained even wide open, while its beautiful, rich bokeh is a hallmark of the Summicron series.
The design also matches digital Leica M cameras beautifully. Lightweight and compact, the lens is highly portable, and the included 12526 hood features an equally minimalist design.
There are extremely faint scuffs on the front edge of the barrel from attaching and removing the hood, barely visible even with a loupe. Overall, the lens retains a very fresh, almost new appearance.
All functions operate properly. The aperture ring and helicoid move smoothly, and rangefinder coupling is spot on. Test shots also produced excellent results.
The glass is clear and bright, with no haze or cleaning marks. The optical condition is just as beautiful as the exterior.
Comes with the original box, warranty card, inspection certificate, instruction manual, hood, hood cap, and genuine front and rear caps.
