The renowned Hasselblad 500C/M, equipped with a Planar T\* 80mm lens. Made in Sweden. This medium-format camera has established an unshakable reputation as a professional camera. Its solid, robust construction reflects exceptional build quality. With its range of world-class Carl Zeiss lenses and an extensive selection of accessories, it forms a versatile system capable of meeting a wide variety of photographic needs.
Introduced in 1970, the 500C/M was a long-selling model that remained in production until 1989. As a modified version of its predecessor, the 500C, it featured several minor improvements, including the ability to interchange focusing screens.
The camera body was manufactured in 1979, the Planar 80mm f/2.8 lens in 1978, and the A12 film magazine in 1978. The focusing screen is the standard type. The distance scale on the Planar lens is marked in meters.
While many Hasselblad cameras have seen extensive use, this example shows little sign of use and is in very clean condition. The condition of the body, lens, and magazine is consistent throughout. Some deterioration of the chrome plating can be seen on the magazine's opening and closing knob.
The body, lens, and magazine were all overhauled in October 2026. Considerable time and expense were devoted to bringing them into proper condition. Thanks to meticulous servicing by a specialist, all components now operate smoothly.
Faint traces of fungus remain on the rear lens element, which could not be completely removed during routine servicing. This is unfortunate, especially considering the otherwise excellent condition of the lens. However, these traces are barely visible even when the lens is held up to indoor lighting, and they are highly unlikely to affect photographic results.
The original lens front cap and a strap are included.
