Visoflex III, introduced in 1963 following the original Visoflex I for Leica screw mount cameras and the early Visoflex II for Leica M cameras. Leica catalog number 16498. This set includes the pentaprism finder and mirror housing.
An improved version of the Visoflex II, the Visoflex III allows the mirror speed to be switched using a dial at the base of the shutter release lever, offering greater versatility in photography.
Designed exclusively for Leica M cameras, this accessory lets you experience the shutter action of an SLR camera on a rangefinder body.
Practical benefits aside, it can even be mounted on digital Leica M cameras. Please note that it cannot be used with the Leica CL.
A beautiful Visoflex III showing little sign of use. The textured black paint finish is also well preserved. Both the camera-side and lens-side mounts are equally clean. It would also make a fine display piece when paired with a well-preserved Leica body.
All functions operate properly. Tested with a Visoflex lens. The prism has been cleaned, providing a clear and bright view.
Comes with a cap, German instruction manual, and original box. The manual includes illustrations of compatible Visoflex lenses and dedicated accessories. It is a rather dangerous book, almost like an invitation into the endless maze of Leica collecting!
