Leica 50mm 1:1 viewfinder, SBOOI, later catalog number 12015. One of Leitz's finest viewfinders, combining simple functional beauty with an outstandingly clear view.
This example is an early version with 5cm engraving and a mixture of upper- and lower-case lettering. The eyepiece is chrome.
A rare very early version, without the knurled grips on either side of the finder. It also features a retaining screw on the accessory shoe foot and four set screws securing the foot.
There are many variations of the SBOOI, and this very early example gives an interesting glimpse into the trial-and-error process during the initial stages of its development.

Originally sold by us. It was carefully used by its previous owner and has now returned to Flashback Camera. We are always happy to welcome accessories back as well!
The condition remains unchanged from when we last sold it and is ideal for regular use. The exterior shows a fair amount of light wear, but there are no noticeable scratches or dents.
The glass shows slight balsam separation along the edge on the eyepiece side, a few small spot-like areas of balsam separation, and extremely fine cleaning marks. None of these affect the view. It offers the clear and bright viewing experience characteristic of the SBOOI.
