The only standalone viewfinder made specifically for the Hektor 73mm lens. Leitz product code SAIOO. Introduced around 1935.
Parallax scale in meters. Chrome finish.
Its folding design makes it extremely compact. A fine example of a Leitz accessory, it is beautifully precise and remarkably solid despite its small size.
Produced in limited numbers, the SAIOO is quite a rare finder today. There are no doubt many collectors looking for one.
Interestingly, the 1936 Leitz finder catalogue appears to list a black version of the SAIOO alongside the SEROO and SYEOO. It occasionally becomes a topic of conversation among collectors, but we have never actually seen one. If anyone owns the elusive black SAIOO, we would certainly love to see it someday!
There are some minor rub marks on the front of the finder around the 7.3cm engraving, but otherwise there are hardly any signs of use, and the overall appearance is very clean. There are also almost no mounting marks on the shoe. It is clear that this finder has been carefully preserved by a collector for many years.
The glass is just as beautiful as the exterior. The Albada finder is also free from any chips or damage, providing a remarkably clear view.
Comes with a nice leather case. A wonderful addition to any collection!
