Summilux-M 35mm f1.4 FLE ASPHERICAL. A special model released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Summilux-M 35mm FLE, which introduced the floating element mechanism, or FLE. Leica product code 11730. Limited to just 110 pieces worldwide.
Curiously, there appears to be no official release information from Leica for this lens. Ten lenses were produced for each year from 2010, when the FLE was introduced, through 2020, each with a special serial number. This example bears the dedicated serial number 02/2018.
In addition to the special limited-edition serial number, the lens name ring is engraved ASPHERICAL rather than the usual ASPH. Presumably, this is an homage to the famous double-aspherical AA Summilux. It is also engraved 10 JAHRE, marking the 10th anniversary.
On the standard model, the feet scale is marked in yellow and the lens mount index is a red dot. On this version, however, the scale is grey and the index dot is black, giving the lens a cool monochrome appearance. It should pair particularly well with black bodies such as the M10-P, M11-P, or M Monochrom.
The serial number of this example is in the 4.81 million range. The lens on which it is based was introduced in 2010 and is the generation immediately preceding the current model. It features a floating element mechanism, with a minimum focusing distance of 70cm. Actual measured weight is 303g.

A rare piece.
It is literally in like-new condition, with no signs of use.
All functions operate properly. The helicoid feels slightly heavy, but it should be within an acceptable range. Rangefinder coupling is accurate.
The glass is clear and bright with no haze. No cleaning marks are visible.
Included are the outer cardboard box, original box, dedicated certificate, inspection certificate, instruction manual, dedicated front cap, original rear cap, hood, hood cap, front ring, and leather case.
Also highly recommended for collectors.
