This lens was based on the one used in the GR1, Ricoh’s premium compact camera that remains highly popular today, and was produced in a limited run as a Leica-mount lens. It was introduced in 1997.

A total of 3,000 lenses were produced: 2,000 in silver and 1,000 in black. The barrel is made of brass with a chrome-plated finish. Despite its compact size, it has a satisfyingly solid feel, weighing 178g on its own.

7 elements in 4 groups, with two aspherical surfaces. Minimum focusing distance is 70cm. Filter size is 40.5mm. Balsam separation is relatively common with this lens, but this example is completely free from it. Both the exterior and glass are in excellent condition. Our test shots also showed excellent performance even wide open. This is the only lens that lets you enjoy the distinctive rendering of a GR lens on a Leica.

There are no signs of use. It is literally in like-new condition.

All functions operate properly, and the rangefinder coupling works perfectly.

Under a strong LED light, only a very small amount of dust can be seen inside the glass, but this should have virtually no effect on actual photography. There is no haze, and the glass is clear and bright. Test shots also produced excellent results, delivering the corner-to-corner sharpness characteristic of the GR lens.

The hood, front and rear caps, viewfinder, Japanese instruction manual, and original box are all included.
