Summicron-M 50mm f/2, fourth generation, in black finish. The Leica product code is 11826, the same as the current model. This example has a serial number in the 3.84 million range and was made in 1998. The optical design carries over from the third generation, with 6 elements in 4 groups. The built-in lens hood keeps the lens compact and convenient to carry. The minimum focusing distance is 0.7m, and the filter size is E39.
The Summicron series has been in production for more than 70 years since the introduction of the first model in 1953. Its excellent performance, characterized by high resolution and high contrast, is also firmly carried over into this model.
There are virtually no signs of use. It is in remarkable condition and would be difficult to distinguish from a brand-new example. Although it does not have 6-bit coding, it can be purchased for roughly half the price of the current version, making it an excellent value.
All functions operate properly, and the rangefinder coupling works accurately.
The glass is clear and bright, with no cleaning marks or haze.
The original box, leather case, instruction manual, and front and rear caps are included. The box shows signs of use, and its serial number does not match the lens. Please consider the box as an extra.
