Leica M6 TTL 0.85 in black chrome finish. Leica product code 10436. With a serial number in the 2.47 million range, this example was made in 1998, the first year of M6 TTL production.
The M6 TTL was available with three viewfinder magnifications: 0.58x, 0.72x, and 0.85x. This example has the highest 0.85x magnification, offering a view closer to life size and a significant advantage in terms of visibility. The viewfinder does not have 28mm frame lines, and is equipped with 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 90mm, and 135mm frames.
The Leica M6 series has also been reissued in recent years, and interest in the M6 as a Leica M camera with a built-in exposure meter has grown once again. For those who want to enjoy shooting film, it remains a very appealing Leica.
This example shows relatively little overall use, though the black chrome finish has developed the bubbling deterioration commonly seen on M6 bodies. There are no dents or impact marks. Recommended for someone looking for an M6 TTL as a practical user camera without concern for cosmetic condition.
Fully overhauled in September 2026. All controls now operate smoothly. The finder has also been thoroughly cleaned and is clear and bright, with good rangefinder contrast. The exposure meter is also working properly.
Careful servicing has been carried out throughout, making this a camera you can use with confidence.
A great choice for everyday use.
