Wide-angle lens for Hasselblad cameras. Distagon C 50mm f4 with T* coating. Serial number in the 6.36 million range, made in 1981. Distance scale in meters. Series 8 filters are fitted using a Series 63 screw-in retaining ring.
The Distagon C 50mm was introduced in 1964 with a chrome barrel. T* coating was adopted in 1972, and the black-barrel version was supplied from 1973. It remained in production until 1982, when it was succeeded by the CF version, making it a long-selling model.
Around 75,000 examples of this lens are said to have been produced, making it one of the most popular Hasselblad lenses after the 80mm and 150mm.
There are some scuffs and scratches from use, but the lens is in good cosmetic condition for this model. As many examples of this lens have seen heavy use, this one is in comparatively good condition.
All functions operate properly. The front element shows a fair amount of coating deterioration, and there is some dust inside the lens. There are no noticeable scratches or haze.
A good choice for practical use.
