The Leica M Monochrom is a digital camera dedicated exclusively to black-and-white photography. This is the second-generation model, the Typ 246, with Leica product code 10930. Its base body was updated from the M9 to the M240, and the sensor was changed from CCD to CMOS.

The 24-megapixel sensor, which dispenses with a Bayer color filter, produces exceptionally detailed images by specializing entirely in monochrome photography.

This example is an à la carte model finished with ostrich leather. It feels exceptionally comfortable in the hand, while the rounded, raised quill marks give the camera a highly distinctive appearance. An ideal choice for those looking for something a little different.

With its M240-based body, the M Monochrom offers significantly improved operating speed, stability, high-ISO performance, and maximum ISO sensitivity. Its large-capacity battery also allows you to enjoy extended shooting sessions.

Incidentally, the M240 series is the only Leica M series capable of recording video, and the Typ 246 also supports video recording, naturally in monochrome only. Enjoy creating distinctive black-and-white footage with classic lenses.

This camera shows only the slightest signs of use and retains a strong like-new appearance. There is only a very faint rub mark on the top plate and extremely minor mounting marks around the lens mount. The ostrich leather covering is also in truly beautiful condition.

This camera was enjoyed regularly by one of our customers until recently. All functions operate properly. The sensor is very clean, with no scratches or dirt. The results of our test shots were also excellent. The viewfinder is clear and bright.

Our warranty covers initial defects only. However, Leica Japan adjusted the rangefinder arm and cleaned the image sensor in April 2025, so you can use it with confidence.
