The rear monitor has been omitted, giving the back a design reminiscent of a film Leica. Like the M Monochrom, the front is free of the Leica logo, while the top plate features the white Leica script logo. The result is a remarkably clean and refined appearance.
This was a truly striking model, deliberately rejecting the convenience of a rear monitor and control buttons that digital cameras normally provide. Following the M Monochrom, it is another avant-garde camera that could only have come from Leica.
It is equipped with a thumb rest inspired by the film advance levers of the Leica M3 and M2. This playful design detail is not merely decorative, but also highly practical.
With no monitor to check each image, shooting with the M10-D feels much like using film and stimulates the imagination. Various settings can be adjusted and images previewed through a smartphone using the Leica FOTOS app. In other words, your smartphone becomes the rear monitor, which greatly improves usability compared with its predecessor.
Also worthy of note are its quieter shutter sound compared with the standard M10 and the comfortable grip made possible by the absence of a rear monitor. Viewed from above while held in the hand, it resembles a Leica M6 TTL, offering an atmosphere remarkably close to that of a film Leica.
There are a few very minor rub marks around the strap lugs on the top cover and near the upper edges, but otherwise the body shows almost no signs of use. It is in excellent cosmetic condition and will be a pleasure to use.
The camera has been thoroughly tested with actual shooting, and all functions are working properly. The sensor is free from scratches and dirt. The viewfinder is also clear and bright.
Our warranty covers initial defects only for seven days. However, in April 2025, Leica Japan inspected the camera, adjusted the operation of the rangefinder arm, and cleaned the image sensor. It is in reassuring condition and ready to use.
It comes with the original box, warranty card, inspection certificate, instruction manual, battery, charger and cable, strap, and body cap. The original box with its outer shipping carton is rarely seen. Naturally, all serial numbers match.
