The fourth-generation Summicron-M 50mm f2 with 6-bit coding. This is the current black model, Leica product code 11826. Introduced in 1994, this example has a serial number in the 4.93 million range.
The optical design remains unchanged from the third generation, with 6 elements in 4 groups. The built-in hood keeps the lens compact when carried and improves its mobility and ease of use. The minimum focusing distance is 0.7m, and the filter size is E39.
Having evolved through several generations, the Summicron has remained in production for more than 70 years. Its outstanding performance, with high resolution and strong contrast, is faithfully carried on in this current model.
A like-new example with no visible signs of use.
