The Leitz HFOOK shoe-mounted rangefinder. This model combines the standalone FOKOS rangefinder with the adjustable FOKAB accessory shoe mount. Finished in black and nickel, it features a distance dial graduated in meters, a 75mm base length, and a minimum focusing distance of 1 meter. This example has the finely graduated distance scale. It is designed to be mounted on the camera’s accessory shoe.

When operating the shutter-speed dial, the rangefinder body can be rotated out of the way. This highly practical rangefinder is packed with the ingenious mechanical touches for which Leitz is renowned. By removing the shoe mount, it can also be fitted vertically.

An ideal accessory for the Leica Model A or Standard.

Previously sold by our shop, this item has been carefully used by its owner and has now returned to us once again. This will be the third time we have offered it for sale.
It was fully overhauled in 2022, including replacement of the half mirror. Due to age-related deterioration of the prism, the contrast is slightly reduced, but the view is still exceptionally clear compared with most rangefinders on the market.
There are some light scuffs on the distance dial. Upon close inspection, the distance scale in feet has also been hand-engraved. A pity, especially since the rest of the rangefinder is so clean.
Overall, there is very little wear or paint loss, making this a particularly fine example of a black and nickel HFOOK rangefinder.
