Nikon S3 Olympic, manufactured in 1964 and finished in striking black paint. This model was reintroduced seven years after the original Nikon S3 and is also known as the reissue model. It features a titanium shutter curtain and a viewfinder with 35mm, 50mm, and 105mm frame lines. The dedicated Olympic Nikkor lens was newly designed with 7 elements in 5 groups. The distance scale on the camera body is marked in meters.

At first glance, its remarkably clean appearance could easily be mistaken for the Nikon S3 Limited reissued in 2000. However, this is a genuine, fully original S3 Olympic.

Previously sold by our shop, this camera has been carefully used by its owner and has now returned to us.

There are extremely faint linear scratches above the strap lug on the right-hand side when viewed from the front and near the NIPPON KOGAKU logo on the top plate. Minor rubbing is also visible on the film guide inside the body. Apart from these, there are virtually no signs of use. This is an exceptionally clean example, and S3 Olympic cameras in such outstanding condition are few and far between.

All functions operate properly. There are a couple of tiny dust particles in the viewfinder, but no haze, and the view remains clear and bright. The rangefinder patch also retains strong contrast.

The front and rear elements of the included Olympic Nikkor show extremely faint traces of fungus that are only just visible under a powerful LED light. These should have virtually no effect on photographs.

Supplied with the original lens hood, lens cap, magazine, leather case, silica gel packet bearing the optical mark, Nikon-branded plastic bag, Japanese instruction manual, inner box, and cardboard outer box. The serial number on the outer box does not match.

An excellent addition to any collection.
